✂️ Step-by-Step: A Guide to No-Sew Curtains

  1. Measure Windows

Measure width and length of the window

Add fullness with extra width (1.5x to 2x) and gathers

Add extra length for top and bottom hems (about 4–6 inches)

🧵If you desire floor length curtains, measure from the rod to within an inch of the floor.

  1. Cut The Fabric

Knead the fabric flat and cut it to size

In the case of 2-panel curtains, divide the total width in half

🎯Double-check the measurements before cutting because it’s better to go longer than to go shorter any day.

  1. Hem with Fabric Tape

Fold over the edges (top, bottom, and sides) about 1 inch

Put fusible tape in the fold

Press with a hot (no steam) iron for 5 or 10 seconds until it fuses

💡For cleaner edges, iron the fold first, and then insert the tape afterward.

  1. Add Hanging Hardware

Pick one of these styles of hanging:

Option How-To

Curtain clips Just clip it on the top edge and slide it onto the rod.

Iron-on rod pocket tape Fold top edge, insert tape, and iron to create a rod sleeve.

Grommets Use snap-on grommet kits (no tools needed!) for a modern look!

🎀 Curtain clips are the most casual and give that not-so-done-at-all look.

  1. Hang and Style!

Slip onto the curtain rod and hang

Adjust pleats or folds to hang evenly

Take a step back and admire your work: instant upgrade!
